Boiler Efficiency Optimisation

Supervising control software module is intended to adjust boiler operating conditions in order to ensure its efficiency. The module employs an algorithm with built-in optimizing procedure, which establishes boiler control system presets and effects recommended changes.

The module is installed on a workstation, which additionally runs the boiler efficiency calculator module and the combustion optimisation module. The supervising control module generates presets for various boiler controllers .

 

The software module processes the following values from the existing control system :

  • rotating speeds of coal conveyors, whereas the total rotating speed is always fixed and equal to the controller- or operator preset load value
  • pulveriser sifters (dust separators) baffle positions
  • preset temperatures for mix after the pulveriser
  • secondary air for dust burners baffle positions
  • preset oxygen level for the boiler’s air supply regulator.

Other factors affecting boiler efficiency and the following parameters, which limit other values’ variation ranges are also taken into consideration:

  • current steam temperature
  • combustion gases temperature transverse asymmetry (i.e. combustion gases temperature difference between the left and the right side
  • pulveriser motor current
  • carbon oxide levels in combustion gases
  • nitrogen oxide levels in combustion gases
  • pressure of air supplied to the boiler
  • boiler load
  • operating pulverisers configuration
Basing on measured current values of these parameters, the value of heat losses and indications for their reduction are established.
